Nintendo’s second circle pad add-on dated and priced

It’s official now that Nintendo is now releasing a second circle pad add-on for the 3DS. It will be priced at ¥1,500 ($19 USD) and will be released on December 10, 2011 in Japan. NO word yet on when it will come stateside. It will be using a single AA battery to power it so I doubt it will add extra battery life to the 3DS itself.

  2. Apparently 3rd party devs like Capcom were pushing for this. :/ This should have been in the original design or in a complete redesign.

  3. Could work if it extended the battery life by a significant amount. It is quite ugly though.
    Not sure what the advantage would be as I don’t even use the circle pad for fighting games.

  4. They say its for games that require 2 analog inputs but I think that using a control scheme to what they have on Metroid Prime Hunters would work as well although you would lose the quick access menu the touchscreen could function as.
