The joint venture between Sony and Samsung to make LCD panels for TVs will soon be a thing of the past. Sony has announced that it will be exiting the 50-50 venture by selling its share to Samsung. This will be ending seven years of collaboration. Samsung will be ready to take over the rest of the joint venture into their own existing LCD business. Sony and Samsung will have a partnership of sorts where Samsung will supply them with LCD panels in the future. The full report from Sony can be found here.
