I picked up the Logitech G203 wired mouse recently and spent some time with it. It retails for $50 CAD and I got it on sale for $28.
It’s a smaller mouse measuring 11.6 cm long and 6.2 cm wide, weighs 85 grams (mouse only) with a 2.1 m USB cable. It has a scroll wheel, two main buttons on top and two buttons on the left side and a DPI button below the scroll wheel. All buttons are programmable through the Logitech G Hub software. There are four colours available with Blue, Lilac, Black and White. DPI resolution is rated from 200 to 8,000. Inside the box you get the mouse and a user manual.
The mouse has a good feel to it and feels light. Buttons feel solid and doesn’t make excessive noise when clicked. With the optical tracker, it works well in a work environment and isn’t too twitchy. For gaming applications, it responds well and doesn’t feel like it’ll slow you down. For a mixed use budget gaming mouse, it performs excellently.
There is RGB lighting on the mouse with a band around the mouse and the logo. You can set different colours for the left, right and center of this band. Oddly you can’t set a separate colour for just the logo as it blends the colours from the three sections on the band.
The G203 supports Logitech’s G Hub software. You can set up to four DPI presets and customize the RGB lighting. Through G Hub, you can create as many profiles as you want. Unfortunately the mouse does not have onboard memory, so any profiles you create are tied to your computer.
The G203 is a solid choice for a budget wired gaming mouse that can be used in an office setting, but isn’t as refined as some other higher end mice. Overall, it’s a comfortable mouse for most grip styles and is simple and easy to use.
