3DS to have 3-8 hours of playtime

It looks like the new device that’s coming out from Nintendo later this year will have a 3-8 hour battery life which means that you will need to have an external source of power pretty close by to keep those juices flowing in the 3DS. Continue reading

Nintendo had considered a 3D Gameboy Advance

Nintendo had considered releasing a 3D Gameboy Advance but put the idea on hold until the 3DS. The reason that they put the idea on hold was that the LCD screens back in 2001 didn’t have the quality needed to make good quality 3D screens. Also Iwata let slip that the Gamecube was 3D capable as well too but it would have increased production costs by quite a bit. He also mentioned that they did have a 3D version of Luigi’s Mansion as well. At least Nintendo held off on this technology until now, where 3D screens are readily available and are of a good enough quality to pass their quality control.

Kinect causes XBox 360 to RRoD

It seems that the new motion control add on for the XBox 360 causes some of the older models to RRoD. There doesn’t seem to be a specific thing with Kinect that seems to trigger the older models to RRoD, and it may even be caused by the extended hours used when playing Kinect or the extra horsepower that it uses that pushes it over the edge and causing massive overheating.

PSP Go and PS3 hacked to play game ISOs

This has not been a good few days at Sony. The PS3 and PSP Go have been both cracked and now able to play pirated games. So much for the PS3 for not being hackable. Continue reading

Dragon Quest X Info Coming Soon

The Wii exclusive Dragon Quest X will have some info that will be unveiled on Jan 21, 2011 when the popular Japanese “V-Jump” will have their next issue in about two weeks hitting store shelves. Since its announcement in 2009, info on this game has been nearly non-existent and I’m hoping this game will be good since I’ve been hearing good things about DQIX on the DS, which came out last year.

Angry Birds makes its way to PS3/PSP first

Angry birds will be heading to Wii, DS and Xbox 360 later this year, but it hits PSN later this week, says Sony. The original 63 levels will be available and add-on levels like the season themed ones available on iOS and Android will probably be available in the future. There hasn’t been a price released for it yet, but until then, we’ll be flinging those birds on our phones.
