There is supposed to be an unveiling for the PSP2 in 4 days on January 27. The PSP2 is supposed to have an OLED touchscreen and also have 3G data capabilities provided by NTT DoCoMo when it is released later this year. This will allow for online multiplayer and also video and game downloads while on the go, for Japan at least. Although I’d like to see one of the local networks like Verizon or Sprint in the States or in Canada, Rogers or Bell to provide 3G data for this device, I doubt that it will get that kind of treatment here like it’s supposed to get in Japan.
I’m definitely interested in seeing how this device will make itself unique from what we’ve seen from the Sony Ericsson branded Z1 Zeus Android phone and of course what it brings to the table to counter the 3DS and iOS devices. Hopefully there will be a pricetag that will be pegged to this device as well, although I’m expecting Sony to tack on a price of above $300USD.
